Text: 1 John 2:12-14

Summary: In 1 John 2:12-14, John writes to affirm the faith of all his readers, both young and old, by declaring to them three spiritual blessings they possess as children of God.

Outline: 

I. John declares that his readers’ sins have been forgiven. v. 12

II. John declares that his readers know God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. vv. 13a,      c, 14a

III.  John declares that his readers have overcome satan through the Word of God (i.e., the gospel). vv. 13b, 14b
