Topic: Temple, Christ-centered Hermeneutic Scripture: John 2:13-22

In John 2:13-22, the Apostle John records Jesus' first cleansing of the temple in Jerusalem. John reveals that Jesus is the new temple. He shows how Jesus is the place of fellowship with God—the dwelling place of God with His people. John’s aim is to show that Jesus is the Messiah (the fulfillment of the OT Scriptures) so that people will believe in Him for salvation. So, John tells us the good news that God, in Christ, has drawn near to us; that Jesus is the place where man may safely enter into God’s holy presence once again.
