Neon Signs of the Gospel

Introduction:

The sacraments are like neon signs flashing, ""Gospel, Gospel, Gospel!""

Lesson:

1. The sacraments continually drive the promises of the gospel deeper and deeper into our hearts in order to sign and seal in our consciences the promises contained in the gospel.

2. The sacraments help us to recognize our heavenly Father’s great goodness toward us so that we may learn to praise and magnify Him more fully.

3. The sacraments empower and strengthen us for growth in sanctification.

""Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.""
