God is Light, Part 4

Summary: To assure his readers they are in fellowship with God, the Apostle John, in 1 John 1:5–2:2, refutes three false claims by the secessionists to have fellowship with God. Today, we will see in 2:1-2, how John refutes the secessionist's egregious claim in 1:10 to have not sinned. In 2:1a, John exhorts his readers to not sin. But, when they do sin, he assures his "little children" in the faith that they have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous who is the propitiation for their sins (2:1b-2).
