II. Jesus Commends Righteous Prayer (6:9-13)

    A. Righteous prayer focuses on the adoption of the Father. v. 9b

    B. Righteous prayer focuses on the honor of the Father. v. 9c

    C. Righteous prayer focuses on the kingdom of the Father. v. 10a

        1. What is the kingdom?

Lesson:

        2. How does the kingdom come?

            a. We do not bring God’s Kingdom into being, God, the Great King, does!

            b. Entrance into God’s kingdom comes by way of promise—grace.

        3. What does it mean to pray, “Your kingdom come?”

            a. To pray, “Your Kingdom come” is to confess one’s spiritual inability and complete dependence upon            

                the Father.

            b. To pray, “Your kingdom come,” is to pray a gospel-mission prayer.

            c. To pray, “Your kingdom come,” is to pray for the consummation of the Father’s kingdom.
