A. Believers must devote themselves to good works. v. 8
B. Church leadership must avoid foolish disputes. v. 9
“The theologian’s task is not to divert the ears with chatter, but to strengthen consciences by teaching things true, sure and profitable,” (Calvin, Institutes, 20:164).
1. There will always be contentious men who never cease to annoy faithful gospel teachers and churches.
