III. God the Father sent the Holy Spirit to confirm our sonship. vv. 6-7

 

A.       “Abba! Father!” is an expression of intimacy.

 

B.       “Abba! Father!” is an expression of confidence.

 

C.       “Abba! Father!” is an expression of a cry for deliverance.

 

Reflection: 

 

“…There is no slavery in Christ but only sonship; for when faith comes, the slavery ends…” (Luther’s Works, vol. 26, p. 390).
