No Public Worship Services This Sunday
Regrettably and with a heavy heart, after our Zoom GAD clergy meeting with Bishop Neil this week and in light of the widespread rise in coronavirus cases in Duval County and surrounding counties, which our church represents, we are canceling in-person public worship for this Sunday, July 12, 2020. We will reassess for the following Sundays.
We will move back to Morning Prayer but this time on our new YouTube channel.
Please be praying for Bishop Neil, myself, and all GAD clergy as we seek wisdom to do what is best for everyone. As I wrote several weeks ago, this is a season of lament (see COVID Lament). It is a hard lesson to learn. But, this is where we find ourselves in the providential plan and purposes of God.
Prayerfully read these comforting words from the Heidelberg Catechism:
Q: What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A: That I, with body and soul, both in life and in death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who with His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me, that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that all things must work together for my salvation. Wherefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready henceforth to live unto Him.
