Do Not Be Deceived!, Part 2
Text: 1 John 2:18-27
Summary: John’s primary aims in 1 John 2:18-27 are to warn and equip his children against the antichrists’ (i.e., secessionists’) attempts to deceive them. Therefore, John gives four instructions to his children to protect them from being deceived and led astray by the antichrists.
Outline:
I. John’s readers (as well as us today) are to understand the time in which they live. v. 18
II. John identifies the deceivers who were threatening his children. vv. 19, 22-23
